Hi Phill,

Just a bit of feedback on the new book. Fantastically written. Easy to comprehend, combining humour and useful tips.

Great job.

Warwick University.

Here's What I'll Be Teaching You... In "10 Simple Steps"

If you have already done some driving, take a look and see how far you've got. That will give you some idea how far you have left to go before taking your driving test.

Step 1:

Assuming you have never been in a car before, at least not in the driving seat, you will need to familiarise yourself with all the Basic Controls of the Car: The Accelerator, The Brake, The Clutch, The Handbrake, The Gearstick, The Steering Wheel, The Dashboard, The Indicators, The Windscreen Wipers, The Headlights, etc., etc. You will be taught where they are, what they do and how to use them.

In the first lesson it is very important to actually get you driving. I don't want you sitting at the side of the road for an hour listening to your instructor 'banging on'. So in Step 1, you will also be taught how to Pull-Away from the side of the road, how to Change up a Gear or two and finally how to safely Park the car next to the kerb line.

Step 2:

Having learnt how the car works and practised a little with pulling away and stopping, we will move on to dealing with Basic Junctions. First up is the T-Junction or Give Way Junction, I will teach you how to perform the Left Turn both in to and out of a side-road. You will gain practical skills in speed management, judgement of speed and distance and above all you will start to develop a sense of timing.

Step 3:

Moving on... we'll now take a look at the Right Turns at T-Junctions. These are a little more complicated than Left Turns and includes other subjects which also need to be covered. You will learn how to safely cross the path of oncoming cars and judge the width of gaps ahead that might be between parked cars and oncoming cars. This is known as Meet and Cross. You need to answer the simple question... "Is there enough room?"

Step 4:

You should at this stage be able to drive comfortably around the housing estate, but it's time to branch out. You will now learn how to deal with basic Traffic Lights and Roundabouts. Most estates have these junctions nearby, so there wont be the need to travel too far yet. The point is... once you have covered T-Junctions, Cross-Roads, Roundabouts and Traffic Lights, you will have learnt ALL the Basic Junctions.

Step 5:

Now you know how to drive around all the basic junctions... there's no stopping you. You can get out of your local area and start to explore the city. As you venture out onto the Main Roads you will cope with Bigger, Busier Roads and Junctions. You will learn all about Pedestrian Crossings, Road Markings, Traffic Signs and Driver Behaviour. This is real Hazard Perception... and this is when You Really Start Learning To Drive.

Steps 6 - 9:

Your driving is now coming along nicely. You are gaining confidence and beginning to see why you're putting yourself through all this! Now we can start to have some 'fun' with the Set Piece Manoeuvres.

You have, in total, SEVEN manoeuvres to cover... although most Driving Instructors (including myself) only teach six of them - The reverse around a right-hand corner although still on the official syllabus is NOT used on test (...at least I've not seen it used in the last 15 years!).

So the SIX manoeuvres I'll teach you are:

  1. The Turn in the Road - (Step 6) Commonly called a three-point-turn, but could be completed as a five-point-turn as long as it was in control. Here's where you will gain real skill with Clutch Control and Steering Coordination.

  2. Reverse around a Left-Hand Corner - (Step 7) They rarely (if ever) go to the right, but often choose this 'unpopular' manoeuvre. It really isn't as hard as people think - In fact once I show you how it's done, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about!

  3. Reverse Park on the Road - (Step 8) Usually called the parallel park. This is the one where you reverse into a gap between two parked cars at the side of the road. Just follow the simple steps I'll give you and this one is 'a piece of cake'.

  4. Reverse Park in a Car Park (Left) - (Step 9) Usually called the bay park. This manoeuvre will ONLY be done in the Driving Test Centre Car Park. Whether or not you are allowed to practice at the Driving Test Centre itself, is up to the manager. Ask your instructor.

  5. Reverse Park in a Car Park (Right) - (Also Step 9) The choice of left or right bay park will normally be YOUR choice. However, if there are no available spaces on your preferred side... you will have to go the other way. I'll make sure you are happy either way... then it really wont matter.

  6. The Emergency Stop - The final manoeuvre is requested at random by the Driving Examiner. You might have to do this, you might not. But if you do, you will still have to perform one of the other manoeuvres. Why? Since the introduction of ABS (Anti-Lock Braking Systems) in cars, which are now fitted as standard on most models, the skill of stopping without skidding is no longer required. Simply stamping on the brake pedal could still stop the car safely so there's not very much for the examiners to test any more. As a result, the emergency stop is no longer classed as a manoeuvre and is gradually being faded out.

Step 10:

One more major hurdle to go! Dual-Carriageways. Want to go faster? Now you get the chance to stretch your legs a little and experience roads with speed limits of up to 70mph (..that's the national speed limit on a dual-carriageway in case you didn't know!). With these roads comes the need to know about Slip-Roads and Multiple-Lane Roundabouts.

You're nearly there now... just one more road type to cover - The Country Road. There are plenty of national speed limit (60mph) country roads around... some straight... some curvy... some wide... some very narrow. During this step you will get a real feel for Speed Control and an ability to Read the Road Ahead. One of the most important lessons to learn here is how to switch from 'faster' roads to 'slower' roads so you can maintain a SAFE speed at all times.

So there you have it... Are you ready to take a Driving Test?

Let's find out... Get your Driving Instructor to take you to your local Driving Test Centre and put you through a 'Mock Test'. He'll make it as realistic as possible - just giving directions, no instruction - and you'll go around one of the Official Driving Test Routes (if possible). He'll mark you just as the Driving Test Examiner would and you'll find out if you are ready to PASS.

Practice... Practice... Practice...

These are the three most important words. The Mock Test has 'probably' shown up your weaknesses, so let's put it right. When you can complete a route without making 'silly' mistakes then...

You Will Be Ready To Go For Your Driving Test... For Real.

Please be aware that I DO NOT suggest that you can learn all this in 10 HOURS. You should work through the 10 steps at your own pace. Some steps will take less than an hour but others may take 3 or 4 hours to complete. Most learner drivers reach the required standard in around 30 to 40 hours, but as you are an individual, I can't say how many you will personally need to pass that test, that will naturally depend on your own ability and willingness to learn.

So, how much better would you feel knowing all the steps you need to take and more? Wouldn't you have a much better chance of success on your driving test?

That's why you should own a copy of "The Easy Way To Pass Your Driving Test" today  (in fact, you can be reading it in as little as 5 minutes from now!)

So what would this step-by-step instruction be worth to YOU?

If you phone any local driving instructor and ask them how many lessons you'll need to pass your driving test and how much that would cost you... I'd be surprised if they could give you an answer! In fact if they did give you an exact figure, just hang up.

According to the Driving Standards Agency the AVERAGE amount of hours needed is around 42 with some private practice. But for every person who passes in just 20 hours, someone else needs 50 or 60 hours. I'm yet to meet an AVERAGE person!

But I'll say this (...and this is from my own personal experience and observations): When my own pupils have read through this book and studied the techniques before getting in the car, they take at least 10 hours LESS time to reach test standard. It's all about understanding what's required and knowing what to do and how to do it.

In financial terms that means they save themselves around £200 or more. I'm not losing out as my recommendation rate is through the roof. This is definitely a 'win-win' situation.

So what would THAT sort of information be worth to YOU?

How about HALF of the money you'll save on driving lessons... Shall we say £97.00?

NO!!!!! ...Okay, don't shout!

How about just ONE HOUR's worth? (That's £24.00 ... Fair enough?)

Well that's why "The Easy Way" is such a bargain at just £9.95

That's right, HALF AN HOUR's worth of ANY instructor's time. Why would I make it so affordable? Simply because my costs to deliver it to you are so low.

This is an electronic book (e-book) that can be
downloaded to your computer in an instant.

Which means you can be reading it and putting yourself in "the driving seat" in as little as 5 minutes from now. No waiting for the post - just get straight to it.

I'm confident I'll make my investment back over time ... So I figure I'll be able to offer this fantastic resource (which if you follow the steps contained in its pages could save you a serious amount of money on driving lessons) to more people at this price.

No matter what though, it's a bargain for you. And yes, I am planning to up the price to £14.95 (maybe even £19.95) very soon. Once I get a few more testimonials from satisfied customers ... So be quick if you want to save yourself a few quid.

£9.95 is a drop in the ocean compared to what you could be spending for a professional driving instructor to teach you this from scratch at £20 to £25+ per hour!

Hey wait a minute, don't take MY word for it.

Read a few real opinions of people just like yourself...

Hi Phill,

I would highly recommend "The Easy Way To Pass Your Driving Test" as part of learning to drive. It is a brilliant book, well written, and easy to follow and understand. In fact it became my 'Bedtime Read' the night before my lessons.

Following each stage at a time I am sure, along with driving a car, it helped me to pass my test, which I did First Time.

Shelly, Coventry.

Hi Phill,

I downloaded your ebook for my daughter who found the information very useful and has subsequently passed her test with just 1 minor fault!

I have been an IAM member (Institute of Advanced Motorists) since the mid-80s and I see a lot of common sense in the stuff you are promoting.

All the best,
Pete, Leicestershire.

Phill, I recently bought your ebook which is excellent!

I am a driver of 33 years and always prided myself in my general standard of driving. I have helped about 10 friends and family over the years to get through their driving tests when they appeared to be struggling with so called 'good local ADI's'. Included there, are my three children who have never taken a professional lesson, trained by myself, and all passed first time with just 3, 6 and 5 minor faults respectively.

I have found it difficult over the years to find good material for study to keep abreast of the changing driving scene. For many years I used Antony Smith's 'Learning to Drive, Teach Yourself' which is now out of print. I found your ebook an excellent carry on from this and it's bang up to date. I did benefit so much from reading it.

Bern, Sheffield.

There you go, the proof speaks for itself, doesn't it?

And don't worry because if for any reason you're not completely happy with the content of this book ... you have my personal, complete money-back guarantee...

Just drop me a quick email within 30 days of purchase and I'll happily refund your money in full (in fact, I'd be embarrassed to keep it).

But... the book is yours to keep no matter what,
as a "thank you" gift from me!

OK? So you really can't lose - The book's yours no matter what.

That's about as fair as it gets, don't you agree?

But I'll tell you what I'll do to make this purchase even easier on your wallet. I'm going to throw in some free bonuses which will really give you an edge over those other candidates at the test centre.
