Books and Learning Materials

Below you will see a selection of the titles available from Amazon.co.uk for you to choose from. These are by no means the only books available, by clicking on one of the links you will be taken to the amazon site and can read the reviews and ratings for many other titles.

There are a few books that I recommend. Ones that I use on a daily basis when instructing my own pupils.

The first is called 'Driving: The Essential Skills'.

It is basically the course text book for learning to drive. It covers all aspects of practical driving, from how to operate the basic controls of a car, to driving in heavy traffic on motorways and on the continent.

Essential reading for anyone serious about learning to drive and passing the driving test first time.

The second is a book to help with the theory test called 'The Official Theory Test For Car Drivers'.

It contains most if not all the possible qustions and answers from the official theory test, and is published by the DSA who are responsible for setting the theory test questions.

Third is the smallest book available, 'The Highway Code'.

Although this book can be a bit daunting to read, being a list of rules and regulations with little explanation, it contains some very useful pages. All the traffic signs are listed, as are the meanings of road markings. National speed limits are laid out in a neat table and legal issues are tackled.

If you prefer to use your computer to do your homework, you can do no better than one of the discs from the Driving Test Success range of CD-ROMs.

They include the multiple choice theory test questions and video clips for the hazard perception test.

If you have these three books in your possession, you have set yourself up for the best possible chance of passing both the driving and theory tests on your first attempt. In the link below you may find some other books which may be of interest to you. Click the link for more information.

I wish you the best of luck.
